Tallahassee, FL 12/6/11 (StreetBeat) --Sandvine, (Pinksheets:SNVNF) a leading provider of intelligent broadband network solutions, announced today that it has won an expansion order for US$4.5 million, with a tier-one North American MSO. Sandvine also announced that it added seven new customers during the fourth quarter of 2011, for a total of 44 new customers in fiscal 2011 - 18 more than it won in 2010.
The expansion order includes the purchase of Sandvine's Network Policy Control system, including the Policy Traffic Switch (PTS), and the Network Analytics business intelligence product with its patent-pending Real-Time Entertainment Dashboard.
"Sandvine takes great pride in the loyalty of our customers. Our ongoing relationship with this major cable operator underscores the fact that we continue to innovate to fulfill service providers' evolving business needs. We are also meeting the needs of new customers as we continue to lead our market with new customer wins," said Tom Donnelly, Sandvine COO, Sales and Global Services. "Sandvine's Network Policy Control solutions give customers the efficiencies of integrated policy decision and enforcement, and arm them with leading-edge analytics, for high quality delivery of real-time entertainment applications."
Sandvine's PTS 22000 platform is a major component of Sandvine's Network Policy Control strategy and has become popular since its launch in early 2011 for its compact form factor and industry-leading port density. Sandvine's integrated hardware and software system provides full contextual awareness of application traffic, per-subscriber usage, user device identification, and network topology, thus enabling a myriad of solutions for service providers, such as fair-use management policies and tailored, tiered service plans.
The implementation of Sandvine's Network Analytics business intelligence product in this MSO's network will enable the operator to make critical business decisions by analyzing network data presented in a series of intuitive dashboards. The dashboard library includes the recently announced Real-Time Entertainment Dashboard, which provides operators with particular insight into streaming audio and video traffic, with measurements such as quality, duration, and associated over-the-top revenue.
